How to diffuse hair without frizz! | WAVY & CURLY

Since I'm more relaxed with my hair during the summer, I tend to wear my natural wave a lot. I love wavy/curly hair, and have always been so jealous of people with curls. You always want what you don't have right? While talking to some friends and clients who have gorgeous hair but always dry it straight because their hair is always frizzy or uneven when they try to wear it natural, I wanted to make a tutorial sharing how I style my hair to keep the frizz away. That way more people can wear their gorgeous natural hair! This also helps to wake up my waves and make them more prominent then normal.

Fighting frizz is the most annoying thing to anyone with a wave/curl. No one likes to look as if they've had their head out the car window. I listed my favorite products below to help you out with finding your perfect fit. Above all I would say the must haves are the DevaCurl Frizz Free Volumizing Foam and EVO Liquid Rollers curl balm. These make my waves exactly how I want them to look. Just another style to make me look like a mermaid! Check out the tutorial for the how-to and tips!

Products I used:
Moroccan Oil Smooth Shampoo
EVO The Great Hydrator Mask
Redken Wide Tooth Comb

DevaCurl Frizz Free Volumizing Foam
EVO Liquid Rollers curl balm
Moroccan Oil Treatment LIGHT
EVO Days of Grace leave in conditioner
EVO Builders Paradise hair spray

Ombre to All Over Naturally Dark Hair Color Transformation | Educational

I'm so excited to share this in-salon tutorial on how I took Nasim's ombre color back to her naturally gorgeous dark hair. She's been really inspired by the Kardashians perfect dark hair...who isn't in lust with their hair? Those girls have the best beauty team hands down! And often times clients who did a color want to go back to their natural shade, which can be a bit tricky if someones hair is really blonde in some parts. But that's where a game plan comes into play and is so important when a client asks for a new color...even if its back to the color they were born with!

First let me just say how much I adore this girl. She is so sweet and sexy and just the all around girl next door. I love working on her hair and having her in my chair, and I have to mention her momma too because they both come to me for hair! Anyways, we first started by filling her hair to ensure the blonde ombre being completely covered. We started with the demi-permanent color line by Redken Shades EQ Gloss in the shade 7GB. This is a warm tone perfect for adding pigmentation back to the hair so it doesn't fade and can hold that dark color. Layering colors also helps to ensure the longevity of the color when going from a light to dark tone. Then we did our second color which was the desired shade using Redken Shades EQ Cream (this stuff is amazing and so shiny) in an equal mix of 4N + 6GI + 3NA. The target level was a 4, so the 3 and 6 leveled out to go perfectly with the desired shade giving it a cool natural outcome. I used both demi-permanent colors to allow a natural fade with no ammonia so it didn't lift or damage her hair. It also means that when her natural grows in there won't be a line of notable regrowth.

Follow along the tutorial and see exactly how we gave Nasim her gorgeous new Kardashian inspired color, along with her fun new clip in extensions! I'm so happy that she loves it so much. What do you guys think?

Easy SMOKEY EYE → Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

I've been playing around with my new Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette since the moment I bought it home. After doing my review, which you can check out HERE, I have been wanting to do a smokey look and this was the perfect opportunity to create a tutorial!

Smokey eyes aren't the easiest things to create, so I worked on using minimal shades with lots of blending to present a eye look that can be worn by anyone. I feel like blondes are the hardest to make a dark eye look good on, because it can quickly turn into panda eyes against that light hair color. With this tutorial I wanted to make sure that from the darkest to lightest hair you can rock it without feeling like a panda...even if they are the cutest little things ever! Follow along and see how I accomplish an easy sexy smokey eye using the new Smoky Palette!

Urban Decay NAKED SMOKY Palette Review

Hello gorgeous! There hasn't been a palette that has caught my "want to buy" for a few months now. I think the last one I bought was the Loroc Unzipped...which had already been out for ages I just didn't think to buy it. Then Urban Decay announced the launch of the Naked Smoky palette ($54)...sorry let me wipe my mouth cause I'm drooling!!! When the first images of this came out I was really excited to get my hands on it. The Naked palettes are probably the top selling palette out of all the brands. Everyone and their mom, grandma, sister, aunt, bestie has the first original palette. With 12 shades ranging in multi finishes, naturally, the hype over this one has a lot of expectations behind it.

By the way, Urban Decay put their first store front which is their flagship store in the Fashion Island mall near my house! I am so lucky that its at my mall, and that's where I went to purchase this palette. The girls there are SO nice and helpful. When I go to that store I end up buying more then I wanted to because I'm looking at the girl helping me and ask whats she's wearing...and end up with a basket full of things. If you're ever in the area be sure to visit the flagship store!

The first three shades are supper buttery and soft, with subtle micro glitter that gives its satin finish a bit more shimmer. Armor is a satin with lots of micro glitter that is so pretty, but can fall out if your not careful. Slanted is again a gorgeous satin blue toned silver that just glides onto the eye. Then the last is a satin/matte finish, and is perfect for building a dark lid color.

The Black Market shade is a satin finish that makes it much easier to blend then a typical matte black. I love that about this palette! The next three shades are matte, and can be a tad bit lighter in pigment then the other ones in this collection. Password is the one shade that is a bit more tricky to blend and can come out a bit patchy as seen in the swatch...but it's still a soft shadow. The last two colors are very soft and pigmented, and a perfect finish for the Smoky palette. I;m so glad they included combust because a lot of palettes don't have this type of a transition and your left with feeling like your look is a bit incomplete.

Here is a sneak peek at a look I created with this palette! I will be uploading a tutorial soon!

If you want to hear my full review, watch the video! I am so excited to share about this palette, and hope that this helps if your trying to decide to get it! Because...you NEED IT ;D

Fishtail Piggytail's Hairstyle

When you hair is dirty and you need a magic trick to get out of washing it for another day...dry shampoo and piggytails swoop in and save the day! The piggytail look is normally associated with a very childish vibe that is not something a woman might think to wear. But switch up the technique and use a fishtail braid and it's a perfect disguise for dirty hair no matter how old you are!
I can't even describe how easy and adorable this style is, paired with a summer hat it's even better! Which is what I did the other day because I'm obsessed with my big black hat. It keeps the sun off my face and keeps me cool. How cute with this be with a bikini or sundress?!? I hope you enjoy this look, and don't forget that if you try it and post to instagram TAG ME! I love to see how you wear these styles!

Braided Boho HeadChain

A few weeks ago I posted a picture to my Instagram (@alexsismae) wearing a braided head chain! This was inspired by celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa. She is always doing something amazing for the celebrities and I love to follow people like her to see all the things she's working on. I am often finding a muse through instagram, its such the perfect place for inspiration!

Today's style is pretty perfect for summer and can even be decorated with a fun boho jewel on the forehead. I wore this to work yesterday and got so many compliments. So whether your going to a festival, the beach, or any summer event this braid will set you apart! I hope you enjoy this style!
