I'm so excited to share this in-salon tutorial on how I took Nasim's ombre color back to her naturally gorgeous dark hair. She's been really inspired by the Kardashians perfect dark hair...who isn't in lust with their hair? Those girls have the best beauty team hands down! And often times clients who did a color want to go back to their natural shade, which can be a bit tricky if someones hair is really blonde in some parts. But that's where a game plan comes into play and is so important when a client asks for a new color...even if its back to the color they were born with!
First let me just say how much I adore this girl. She is so sweet and sexy and just the all around girl next door. I love working on her hair and having her in my chair, and I have to mention her momma too because they both come to me for hair! Anyways, we first started by filling her hair to ensure the blonde ombre being completely covered. We started with the demi-permanent color line by Redken Shades EQ Gloss in the shade 7GB. This is a warm tone perfect for adding pigmentation back to the hair so it doesn't fade and can hold that dark color. Layering colors also helps to ensure the longevity of the color when going from a light to dark tone. Then we did our second color which was the desired shade using Redken Shades EQ Cream (this stuff is amazing and so shiny) in an equal mix of 4N + 6GI + 3NA. The target level was a 4, so the 3 and 6 leveled out to go perfectly with the desired shade giving it a cool natural outcome. I used both demi-permanent colors to allow a natural fade with no ammonia so it didn't lift or damage her hair. It also means that when her natural grows in there won't be a line of notable regrowth.
Follow along the tutorial and see exactly how we gave Nasim her gorgeous new Kardashian inspired color, along with her fun new clip in extensions! I'm so happy that she loves it so much. What do you guys think?
