HOW TO: Use Dry Shampoo

I've heard it once, I've heard it a thousand times. "Dry shampoo leaves white patches in my hair. So I don't like it!" Lets learn how to properly use a dry shampoo product so we can get the benefits of not having to wash out hair every single day... without the problem of white patches!
In my tutorial I'll share with you a few of my favorite types of dry shampoo along with how I use the product. The biggest tip I can share besides how to apply is that my holy grail product, Batiste $8-9 (found at Ulta), comes in shades specifically made for blondes, red heads, and brunettes! That way it can better match your color! #noexcuses

ColourPop | Lippie Stick & Pencil

I seriously can't get over how amazing these lip products are. ColourPop just came out with a "Lippie" line, and I can't be any more in love with them! Something else to feed my #lipstickhoarder problems!

ColourPop's lip line consists of a Lippie Stick and Lippie Pencil. The Sticks come in three different finishes; glossy, satin, and matte. Out of the three finishes, I've seen my friends on youtube really gravitate towards the satin and matte finish. As I swatched each shade below, I was blown away by how pigmented and creamy they all were. None of them came out patchy or inconstant. I can't speak for the other ones since I haven't seen them in person, but out of all the ones I've seen on youtube I'm sure they all have the same pigmentation.

The packaging is pretty cute and makes me feel like I went shopping for school supplies, like when you got to go buy new markers and pencils. I hope I'm not the only one who got excited about that lol! They are so easy to apply from the twist up tube, the smaller tip makes application smooth and quick. I'm not very fond of liners that need to be sharpened, just because I don't carry a sharpener around in my purse, but I can totally forgive that because of how creamy and easy they glide onto the lips.

This was such a wonderful first impression, and I will definitely be purchasing the rest of the satin and matte shades later. Gets yours quick, and check out Creature for a gorgeous fall color!

PS- This is not sponsored, they kindly sent me a few to review and the rest I purchased on my own. I believe in their products and am so happy to share them with you all!

90's Grunge Hair Style

Sometimes we need to look back on something thats totally Brittany Spears back when she sang Opps I did It Again on the radio and played on your mixed tape. Back when people got slimed, Lisa Frank covered your school, and milky pen tattoos were all the rage. When we had every flavor of Lip Smackers and folded hand written notes to our friends. Back to the 90's. The decade of my birth!

Today I'm going to share a 90's grunge inspired hair style that can quickly be added into your hair for a great messy look. Throw on a choker and you're ready to kick it old school! Hope you all enjoy!

Triple Braid Updo | NO HEAT

This weeks tutorial is inspired by "no-heat" styles. The past week I've been trying to minimize the use of heat on my hair, giving my hair a nice break from the damage it can create. Hopefully I might make it another whole week so my hair and get a chance to be free. Haha!

This is a undo that is formed from three braids, and can be styled for anything from a cute tee and boyfriend jeans, to a Sunday dress and heels. I love the versatility of braids, especially because they don't harm my hair! Now if you're new to braiding or its hard for you to braid your own hair, simply try doing 3 normal braids. You won't get the cool effect of the french braided look, but you still will have a gorgeous undo in the back.

I hope you all enjoy this tutorial, and do you have a favorite way of wearing your hair without using heat? Let me know!

Milani | Constellation Gel Eyeliners Review

I am a little late to the gate with this review but I have been working on so many things that I forgot about these little guys! Sometimes makeup can be forgotten about in the dark depths of the "things-to-review" drawer...but one day they will be discovered again, lol! Anyways, today I'm going to do a quick review on the Milani Constellation Gel Liners ($5.99)!

These Fall Limited Edition liners came out back in mid September with three cosmic shades; Black Opal, Lapis, and Emerald. The sparkling wonder of the overspray top literally had many eyes wanting this gorgeous starry night liner. But, as we all know that can't transfer onto our eyes as it sits, but underneath still holds three beautiful shades.

The over all texture is super creamy and truly wonderful. But the pigmentation isn't what we would expect in a one-swipe liner. You have to build up this liner to get a nice opaque line. I actually don't recommend to use this as liner because its too soft and can transfer onto your lids. But it works beautifully as a cream base for smokey looks, without the worry of creasing.

The packaging is pretty but not the greatest for a gel liner. The plastic lid doesn't have anything to really seal it air tight, which might make your liner dry out if you don't tighten that lid right!

Over all I'm giving this a 7 out of 10. I really like the shades and think they are gorgeous, but I wouldn't use them as a liner. They make an amazing bases and are so easily applied I don't have to tug my eyes at all! I will definitely be using them this winter for my vampy eye looks!

Belletto Studio Airbrush System | Review + Demo

Being a makeup artist you can't help trying new techniques and tips that circulate around. Airbrush makeup is very well known and used among bridal makeup artists. This is the second system I've used, and have been in love with this flawless finish since day one.In my video review below I talk about the function and ease-of-use with the Belletto Studio Airbrush system, as well as a quick demo on how I apply airbrush foundation. Because this is unlike any other application, you will be blown away by how amazingly smooth and perfect your skin will be.

I was first intrigued by airbrush because it requires no contact of tools on your face. For acne prone skin this means less bacteria creating a cleaner and healthier skin surface. Unfortunately the other brand of foundation with my previous system was not my favorite. But since using Belletto I'm happy to say I've found the right formula. I wanted something with a matte finish that could easily blend together multiple shades to formulate the perfect tone for any skin type. Belletto's foundation ($14.95) comes in 20 shades with every hue from warm to cool. They also have other products like blush, bronzer, and correctors.

Below is a before and after set of pictures that have not been touched up so you can see exactly how my skin was during the process. After applying my foundation I added a little under eye concealer and set that with powder. Other then that I didn't have to powder the rest of my face because the finish of the foundation was matte enough to not need any additional product. Now if you have dry skin and are concerned with your skin getting patchy, they also have skin primer and luster drops to make your skin more dewy and moisturized!

 Before Above | After Below

 Below is my finished look.

Talk about thinking of it all! Belletto has created the perfect system for its users! I am so happy that they wanted me to review this little system and can't wait to offer this to my clients and brides! I'm in love with using airbrush for special events and days that I need a flawless finish. Beletto is kindly offering a special discount for my readers to receive $75 off the Ultimate Starter Kit using the code | leximae | at checkout, or for 20% off the whole site plus free shipping use code | sweetlexi | at checkout!
Big THANK YOU to Belletto for sending me this airbrush kit and helping me discover the perfect foundation I was needing to go along with it! I hope you all have enjoyed this review, and don't forget to watch the video!

This is a really exciting haul I have to share with you. Not only is it a few great fall items, but a wonderful new clothing site I just discovered! After seeing KathleenLights post a picture in a super cute fall sweater I hopped over to the site she purchased it from.

How have I not heard about LookBook before?!? They offer fun trendy clothing for really affordable prices! I would compare their pricing and quality to something you'd find at Forever 21. Although my Sheepskin Leather Jacket is definitely more high end then anything from F21! Check out the great things I got in my haul, and be sure to stick around to see how I style them in an upcoming photo shoot!

Don't forget that I just got a PO BOX and would love to hear from you! I'm so thankful to have 20k subscribers on my youtube and can't wait to hear from you in this personal way of mail. Love you guys so much, and I'll see you in my next video ;)
