LimeCrime Lipstick ⋆ Airbourne Unicorn ⋆ Review

LimeCrime cosmetics is a company designed to thrash the idea of "in the box" makeup standards. Enter the world of bright candy-licious lip colors like banana yellow, minty green, and pool blue. They also have some of the brightest and pigmented liquid liners, glitters, and nail polishes. If you like to play around with seemingly outrageous colors...LimeCrime is your makeup haven!

I went to visit and test out the line at Nigel's Beauty in Los Angeles, I like swatching things a millions times until I buy it. Since my hair is a bright purple I've been wanting to wear a bold pastel purple shade which I normally would never pick. Makeup is all about breaking the shell and trying something new. So I got the shade Airborne Unicorn (18$).

This lipstick is a medium purple that has a creamy look with neon vibrancy. Sometimes these vibrant shades can be splotchy and not wear like they show in the tube*. Let me assure you that LimeCrime lipstick is so highly pigmented that it will blow your hair bows off!!! If you can get past how adorable the unicorn holographic packaging is and actually get into the tube you can see how well the shade is transferred onto the skin. The lipstick has a smooth creamy luxurious texture with opaque coverage and low sheen. I literally want to keep applying this to my lips because it feels so good and smells like MAC lipsticks with a sweet vanilla cake scent . The formula is perfectly hydrated to keep your lips feeling and looking good while still maintaining a long lasting lipstick.

Swatch from limecrime.com
I'm so in love with this lipstick and very impressed by the others I've swatched. There are more shades that I will be purchasing soon and can't wait to do a review on those as well!!! What daring color would you be inspired to wear?

(*When you wear bold colors like Airborne Unicorn, its important to know that if you have pigmented lips its a good idea to blank-out your natural color with a concealer or foundation. Whenever you put a color over another it can take away from the intended shade.)

Cascading Flower Braid ✿ Half-up Hairstyle

Sometimes you need to feel extra girly and do a hairstyle that makes you feel like you have rainbows and fairy dust that fill up your insides! I posted a picture on my Instagram @alexsismae, and had a lot of requests on how to do a tutorial on this lovely bohemian braid that is a half up style and looks like you've made your hair into flowers.

This is an easy braiding technique using the 3 strand braid that is pulled or pancaked on the sides. Perfect for a festival or spring/ summer event that can be worn as shown or added into an updo for a special occasion!
I hope you enjoy!

Sweet Smelling Fragrance

On my trip to Kauai we stopped at a small adorable shop called Cru. My cousin is friends with the shop owner and wanted us to meet her and her little gift boutique. Her whole store is sweet things like the favored Volcano candles, cute baby gifts, creative cards, origonal note pads, and more. I try to shop local or support small stores and products made in the USA as much as I can.

While browsing the hand balms and lotions I saw these to-die-for perfumes by Library of Flowers. They have such beautiful artistc glass bottles and are wrapped in a floral print, packaged in a floral box set into a small wooden case. I'm such a sucker for pretty packaging.  As I went along smelling each bottle I was plesently suprised by how delicious and fresh they were. I'm a picky perfume purchaser, but let me tell you I was a goner!

I tested the scent Wildflower & Fern which is a quaint mix of English cucumber, Davana, and Honeysuckle. I personally like something on the lite side that reminds me of something I would encounter outside in a beautiful magical garden...could I have stumbled upon anything more perfect? The crowning perfume for the spring and summer months!

What fragrances will you be wearing this summer? Will it be a rich vanilla scent, or maybe a more masculine cologne, or perhaps a designer favorite? Let me know in the comments below❤️

Favorite Store for Bathing Suit Shopping

Spring is coming to an end with the anticipation of school letting out and summer vacations soon to arrive. Time to start toning up, working on our tans, and find the perfect bathing suit!

Bathing suit shopping is one of my favorite things to shop for, but always one of the hardest. Having a larger bust makes most styles not suitable for my body and can be very expensive. But I find that when I shop at Target they have such a great selection that I can score a few great finds! I wanted to share with you just a few ideas to inspire your style!

MIX & MATCH
Just because a swim suit has matching top and bottoms doesn't mean you should match! Try buying separates and mix it up by doing a print with a complimenting solid. I always by solid bottoms with various printed tops that way I have more options!

 TOP HEAVY
If you have a larger bust, check out the D-Cup swim tops that offer more coverage and support to keep your top looking curve-a-licious!

Body Conscious
If you think that one pieces are ugly and boring, thank again!!! Target has some of the cutest one-pieces that I've ever seen. If your wanting a suit that flatters your midsection try going for a printed pattern. These help to hide any imperfections and smooth out your body for a very flattering look. Or select a suit with gathered sides to slim the stomach!

Whether your looking for a sexy bikini, trendy midkini, or flattering one-piece, Target is my go to store for bathing suit season! What suits do you want to try out this summer?

Whats in my Travel Bag ✈ Hawaii Vacation

ALOHA!
If you don't follow me on any social networks you won't know that I am currently sitting on a sunny beach in my favorite bikini soaking up the sun and enjoying the Hawaiian tropics! This is my first ever trip to the Islands! I'm on the garden island Kauai, traveling with my mom and sister (family friend). We are staying for 11 days with my cousins who are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place!!!

This video is what you will find in my travel bag. Note that I might be an "excessive" packer, but I learned the hard way that I won't ever come into the situation of under packing ever again haha! I hope you enjoy this video, and if your going on a tropical vacation I would love to hear about where your going!!!

I am not uploading the week of May 11th-17th, but stay tuned because my vacation blog will be up soon after I get home!

theBalm: Nude 'tude Palette ❤ Review

theBalm Nude 'tude palette is a natural palette that contains 12 shadows in a slim vintage packaging and retails for $36. There are two versions of this palette, one being a "feeling naughty" with a sexy vintage pinup design, and the other being "feeling nice" with a classy vintage room layout. Both palettes contain the same shadows they just have different pictures. I purchased the naughty version because I'm simply in love with the adorable pinup design!

The packaging is a sturdy hard cardboard with a magnetic closer.  The magnet closer on my palette is very strong, I don't ever have to worry about it opening up when I don't want it to. The cardboard packaging isn't as protective as the tin packaging by Urban Decay or the new Too Faced palettes, but still a good design to keep the palette sleek and easy to travel with or to throw in your purse.

The shadows themselves are a brilliant formula with a silky feel and easy blend ability. The pictures shown are in natural lighting with no primer, the pigmentation speaks for itself! Applying the matte formulas are so easy, and make this palette very valuable because it has everything needed to do a basic eye to the most dramatic dark smokey eye. The shadow shade range isn't something out of the box, its more of your classic gorgeous shades that totally entice someone like me who is addicted to neutral tones and browns. I like that they put warm and cool tones with a cute pink and yellow shadow which isn't seen in most brown tone palettes.

My overall conclusion of the Nude 'tude palette is that I love the shades, formula, packaging, and quality. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a high quality palette. This easily has become a must have in my collection!
