L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint | Review

The past year I have become a lippie junkie. My collection has grown and is now busting at the seams...I won't even talk about the HUGE haul I just ordered online that you'll see soon. While browsing the feed of my Instagram I've seen a lip paint from L.A. Girl that all the beauty bloggers are buzzing about. So of corse I needed to see whats so exciting about them!

I'm a huge fan of glosses, especially because I tend to wear nudes and pinks most of the time which makes glosses my easy go-to. The L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints ($4 | 0.40fl.) claim to have the pigmentation of a lipstick with the ease and shine of a gloss. I think some people are getting these confused with trying to be a lipstick although the name of the product "Glazed" means something else to me. I think of a semi opaque pigmentation with a heavy shine. Which is exactly how these paints apply. They are like a gloss with out the sticky feel, which are comparable to OCC Lip Tar but still have a slightly different texture. And have amazing vibrant pigmentation with a beautiful high shine. The paints have a peppermint oil that cools your lips and vitamin E to keep them super hydrated.

While the paints are impressive with their pigmentation, they aren't as solid as lipsticks. I honestly like them alone with the exception of Babydoll which I feel settles into fine lines and doesn't leave a pretty finish when worn alone. But whats great about these paints is that they layer beautiful with each other and over lipsticks making them the perfect topping to your favorite lippies. I would also recommend if your wearing them alone to use a lip primer like MAC's Prep and Prime Lips to keep it from color outside the lines.

Last but not least the packaging. They look really cute but the traditional gloss tube and applicator are a no-no for precise application. It turns into a hot mess unless you apply with a lip brush, which is what I like to do.

To wrap it up I would like to say that I like these fun lip paints and am really impressed especially since they are $4! Other brands like OCC and Too Faced have comparable products that are a nicer (meaning more expensive) quality, a bit of a different formula, but can't compete with the price. If I had to pick a favorite I would have to say its between Bombshell and Blushing because they are gorgeous colors that can be worn year round!
