How to color ♛ Hair Extensions

You may not know it, but hair extensions are everywhere we look. From celebrities to soccer moms...even mermaids are getting their lovely locks thicker and longer. A great way to start is with clip in extensions that requires no commitment and can be easily applied for a night out.

Because I do many hairstyles that require thick hair I like to volumize my own hair with my colored extensions. Most people don't even realize when I do add in extensions because the colors blends so well. This video is going to show you how to color your own extensions at home using temporary vibrant shades. This is not how I would go about dying regular colors like blonde, brunettes, and reds. But rather how to achieve these colorful mermaid tones using the lightest set of blonde extensions from Luxury For Princess (use the code: ALEXSIS for a discount).

You can also ask your professional hair stylist to do this in the salon, but sometimes they would rather you do it yourself because it can be a risky business. I would recommend trying it out on one small clip in strand as a tester before tackling the entire set. See how it works out and if your formula is what you'd expect the results to be. Beware, you could possibly make a mistake in the exact shade you want, so please do a test strand.

What I used:
2cups water
2tbsp. Redken All Soft shampoo
2oz. Redken 20vol
1 scoop Redken Flash Lift Lightner
Scruples Urban Shock Temporary Color

Good luck loves, and have fun coloring your extensions my little mermaids!

How to wear a Head-Chain

To follow up my review about the LalaRoque head-chains I wanted to do a easy tutorial on how I wear these accessories. Sometimes seeing something done is easier for you to understand how to wear them.

In this video I'm wearing the Spike Headchain that can be worn two different ways. This look is too perfect for summer nights or music festivals. You don't have to have long hair to wear these accessories, just the confidence to wear one ;)
I hope you guys like this quick styling tutorial!

GRWM ❤ Wet N Wild Palette ❤ Hair Extensions

Welcome to another Get Ready With Me video!
This was my first experience using any Wet N Wild makeup! I recently went to Rite Aid and purchased both the Comfort Zone and Flirting at the After Party palettes. Randomly in this video I decided I wanted to base my whole look around the Comfort Zone palette and do an easy smokey eye look with an option to bring in a pop of green color.  You can find all my makeup products here

I hope you enjoy this chit-chat video, and let me just apologize for how much I like to talk ;) !!!

Handmade Head-chain Accessories

Summer time brings out the free spirited bohemian side of me. Flowing garments and care free style is my go to look because of the beach life lived here in Southern California. Now add a gorgeous head chain and I'm instantly a gypsie princess!

I was on the hunt for a while to find the perfect head chain accessories to compliment my outfits and came across LaLaRocque. Heathers pieces are inspired by the California Lifestyle and handmade with love. They come in many different styles and finishes. All of the items are made to order and you can measure your head just in case and send the measurements to make sure the style fits your head. I was sent the accessories shown and am so excited to share with you how adorable they all are.

The first is a flower crown with light pink roses and a vine tie. Made with durable foam petals that look very realistic and have a bit of shimmer, while the vine is easily tied to fit any head size. Probably one of my favorite things I received!

The Georgiana Reversable Spiked Head chain is a dainty single chain with gorgeous little spikes that can be worn in the front or along the back. So pretty for the girls who love to rock the spikes and studs.

This is a three tier Gold Head chain with three strands of chain that lays on the side and is held by a small hoop at the forehead. Beautifully simple and stays put due to the chain that rests on the top on your head.

This Silver Turquoise Head Chain shares my favorite color and shows off a shiny silver chain with delicate turquoise stones.

My last piece is a now discontinued head chain, but I wanted to share it with you anyways. This is a gorgeous crystal beaded head chain that plays off any color that it's next to.

A big thank you to Heather for being so sweet and sending me these head chains! You can find all these (except for the crystal one) at her Etsy store! They are on sale for 4th of July and all accessories are $10 (otherwise use the code: ALEXSIS for 25% off)!!! Get a few for your summer style and enjoy these head chains that make you feel like an Arabian Bohemian princess!!!

ColourPop Cosmetics Cream Shadow +Swatches

I've been noticing a few of the makeup artists I follow use this brand called ColourPop and hoped over to their website. Of corse I love everything brightly colored and super fun, so I fell instantly in love. They pride them selves on having a boldly pigmented shadow that won't blow a tire in your wallet, each shadow is priced at just $5.

They sent me a package that as I opened I almost died. The box set up was so freaking cute I almost didn't want to try it and mess it up. But obviously something sent with this much love had to be amazing right? Excuse me while I freak out! I opened the slide on the box that held 6 colors that I picked out.

Each shadow comes in a white durable plastic pot with a screw on lid. The lids have a clear window so you can easily see the color with the name of the shade pinted on the bottom. I like the packaging and since it's made from plastic it keeps the costs down from using something like a glass pot. The shadows are a long-wearing feathery cream base and can be used as is, or mixed with setting products like MAC's Fix+. The idea behind the formula was that you would not have to worry about fallout from traditional powder shadows because the product stays on the brush or lid. When you dip your brush into the product it is easily picked up and applied to your lids. With a blending brush I can glide the product like a dream and blend the shadow to diffuse out any lines. Using a flat brush that has dense bristles or even your fingers, you can pack the product for a deeper look. The closest thing I could compare this to would be the Stila foiled shadows, but it still has a very different texture. Their line has a number of finishes like neons, metallics, nudes, satins, and smokes.

Tassel- A bright true white shade with multi demensional highly reflective glitter.
Lovely- A soft gold with shimmering flecks of multi dimensional glitter.
Sequin- A coppery penny shade with silver and gold glitter.
On the Rocks- A vibrant true bronze with gold and violet glitter.
Desert- A warm saddle brown with a taupe satin finish.
Dare- A vibrant neon purple with violet and hot pink glitter.
Each shadow was perfectly pigmented and came together in a blended harmony. Whether your a makeup newby or work as a professional, these shadows will blow your mind. It won't be long before my collection of ColourPop exceeds normal standards...good shadows are worth the obsession!

Frankie Rose Blush Review +Swatches

Summer calls for fun colors and bronzed skin. I was looking at all my lovely Frankie Rose blushes and thought to share them with you because the range I have is perfect for any summer look! I've shared a review on their lipsticks that I absolutely love, and am excited to talk about their blush line!

To start out the packaging of this blush is a powder pan formula in a matte black case that holds 21 grams of product. Which is a tiny bit smaller compared to MAC blush pans. The Case is a sturdy closure with a clear window on the front to see which shade it is with the color printed on the back side. Everything is easier with a color window!

The blush itself ranges in multiple finishes of matte, shimmer (which looks more satin), and a hint of glitter. Each one is equally pigmented with great long-lasting color. I'm a big fan of matte blushes, but have found myself really enjoying the shimmer shades because its just enough sheen to give my cheeks a glow. When brushed onto your skin its easy to blend them out to give a prefect cheek color. Even the mattes blend to a soft pop of color. Lets get into the shades!

Sienna- A warm matte brown blush.
Canyon Spice- Bronze shimmer blush with no glitter.
Venetian Rose- Light shimmer deep pink with no glitter.
Tawny Orange- Bright orange shimmer blush with a hint of glitter.
Pink Ladies- Bright semi-matte blush with no glitter.
Peachy Pink- Light shimmery pink with a touch of shimmer and sparkle.
Romantica- A matte neutral pink with a blush with a hint of pink.

In the swatches you can see how gorgeous each shade is when transferred to the skin. I'm loving these Frankie Rose blushes, and have now become part of my bridal makeup kit. If you're in need of a pretty summer blush, I would recommend any of these cuties!

DIY ✹ Glam Glow ✹ Detoxifying Facial Mask

While I was browsing the popular posts on Pinterest I came across this DIY for the Glam Glow Supermud Mask that I've been wanting to try but haven't because of the astronomical price tag ($70). Two cuties that author a lifestyle blog called The Twisted Horn posted this recipe to make your very own mask using organic and all natural ingredients. This recipe was directly from there blog and I wanted to try it out to show you the how-to steps and my experience!

You will need:
2 tbsp Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Aztec Secret Bentonite Clay
8 Capsules Active Charcoal
1 tbsp Aloe Vera (fresh or 99.9% gel)
4oz Green Tea (seeped strong)
2 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
2 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil

I found all my ingredients at The Vitamin Shopee, most were the organic brand or all natural. There is enough to make quite a bit of facial mask, so just save the rest for making another batch later (or check out my next DIY which we will be using the coconut oil). The steps are shown in my video along with how I put on the mask. I really liked that I knew exactly what I was putting onto my face without any nasty preservatives that could possibly cause problems.

The overall experience was really great and I enjoyed the results of the mask. I felt like my skin was super soft to the touch and my pores were sucked of anything that could cause clogging and breakouts. A few days after the mask I didn't experience any breakouts only clear skin! This will definitely be my go-to mask for detoxing my skin and spot treatment of any bad blemishes!

I hope you guys enjoy this DIY and please check out The Twisted Horn for other great projects and posts!

This week is DIY WEEK! To start off the three video I'll be uploading this week I'm going to show you how to turn your old tshirt...or your brothers old tshirt, into a trendy crop top! You can use any type of a shirt, I got mine in a bag of hand-me-down clothes and I liked its graphics so I thought I'd up cycle it because it was obviously a little to big.

All you need for this DIY is a shirt, fabric scissors, a ruler, and a white or yellow crayon. You won't have to sew or use anything else and this whole project takes about 10 minutes depending on your cutting skills! Follow the steps shown in the video and learn how to easily up cycle any old tshirt into a summer crop top! When you do, take a picture of it and post it on Instagram and tag @alexsismae so I can see all your cute crops! I hope you guys enjoy!

"Makeup can hide a multitude of sins."

Upon returning from vacation I decided that I wanted to get my skin care on track and healthy. I've dealt with acne and uneven texture creating a uncomfortable feeling with my skin. Right as I got back from Kauai I booked a facial and got my first microdermabrasion treatment followed by contacting Murad to try out their skin care line that is highly praised and created by dermatologists.
I had hear and seen Murad in stores like Sephora but have never tried their brand. When my friend recommended Murad I contacted the company who sent me an extremely generous care package filled with everything needed to work on my skin.
This video is the introduction to what I got and am using, which will be part of a series of a skin care routine and trial. I will be uploading a second video after my next facial appointment and talk to you about what that experience is like and how its been affecting my skin. Here is the list of products I got.

Acne is a ongoing battle that I've yet to win...but I'm hoping that the specialist can show me how to combat this and what products to use so I can share that information to all of you!

Summer Hair ☼ Floating Lace Braid

In this tutorial I'm mixing together two requests. One for a summer hairstyle to keep the hair out of your face and still look cute, and another request of a super similar braid that I posted on my Instagram.

This is a lace braid that looks as if its floating in your hair. Great to pair with fun curls for a summer night out, or your favorite bikini and some fun in the sun! Wherever you're wearing this braid you'll know that you have a cute style without too much effort. I hope you all enjoy!

Get Ready with Me ♥ Purple Lips & Sexy Wavy Hair

A lot of beauty bloggers post videos in a series called "Get Ready With Me." The video is a two or three part look showing your makeup, hair, and possibly an outfit that all works together. I realized the other day that I don't think I've ever done one of these videos and its about time I jumped on the bandwagon!

My first look is for work and I'm sporting a sexy wavy hair style with a makeup look focusing on bright purple lips and a cute black romper outfit. My hair is pretty easy and great for an every day look to date night out with Mr. Perfect. My makeup is a flawless winged eyeliner with an emphasis on my favorite Limecrime lipstick in the shade Airborne Unicorn. Purple doesn't get more glam the that. I pull all that together with my easy black romper found at F21. Since I work at a salon I can be a little more glamorous then a regular day job ;)!

Find all the products and outfit details listed HERE.

I hope you enjoy this video and please give it a "thumbs up" if you'd like to see more of these tutorials!
