Makeup Forever Mist & Fix

The life of a 21st Century woman is chaotic and busy. Whether you are working a full time job while balancing a social life, have 3 kids and are try to juggle their activities and meal times, or are a student getting from one class to another. Lets face it, we are always doing something to fill our day. Personally I know my life can get quite busy. I work at a salon part time, I am a freelance stylist, YouTuber and beauty blogger, as well as a wife. The last thing I need to worry about is carrying around a purse full of makeup to touch up anything that can't last throughout the day.
Thankfully there are many cosmetic products on the shelves that can stand a test of time. But to me there is nothing like an amazing setting mist to keep everything in place from when you leave early in the morning, then come home late at night. I've tried a few brands lik

e Victorias Secret and NYX to name a few, but nothing that I can honestly say has truly impressed me until I tried Makeup Forever's Mist & Fix.
Makeup Forever is a known brand that can accomplish everyday glam to film artistry. I went to their store inside of Sephora and quizzed them on their setting spray. I've heard it was good, but I always like to test things out myself so I know first hand before I recommend anything to anyone. Here is the rundown:
  • it's a lightweight fine mist
  • has a clean fragrance when sprayed then dries to no fragrance
  • after the mist dries you can't feel anything on your skin
  • it sets all types of makeup
  • leaves a natural finish
  • prolongs the wear of your makeup till you wash it off
  • holds up under extreme conditions (wore it to the beach and it did wonderfully)
  • its alcohol free!
  • you can use it to make your eyeshadow smudgproof and water resistant
  • it also protects your skin from external damage*
The proof is in the bottle! You can purchase this online of from the Sephora store (.84oz $12 & 4oz $29). Makeup sure you use this the RIGHT WAY! Apply your makeup and then spray in a T or X shape with two pumps about 12 inches away from your face, or your can spray directly on a tissue and pat it onto your skin. When people use it wrong it can seem like is doesn't work…because the user is using it incorrectly. Lol.
Anyways, I give this a MUST HAVE and will continue to repurchase this product for myself and for the brides I do makeup on. If you have used this product let me know what you think of it!

♥The Beginners Makeup Bag♥

I was around 12 when I first got my hands on real makeup. My mom was a model and stylist back in the day and always had fun stuff around that I played with. You get to that point as a preteen when you want to get your own makeup.
Now depending on if your paying for it from your allowance, or your parents are paying for it basically plans out where you'll be buying from. There are great products in the drugstore as well as in the high end stores. Figuring out where you'll buy your makeup is the first thing you need to decide, budget is everything because some makeup can get really pricey. Ulta and Sephora are my two favorite makeup stores! Ulta carries all the brands in the drugstore like Covergirl and Revlon, as well as a few high end brands such as Too Faced and Benefit. Next you need to know a few things about your basics before you get in too deep. My video shows you a few products that I recommend from your base makeup to your lip gloss, everything to create a complete look. I hope you find this as an easy guide into the wonderful and colorful world of makeup. And remember that the best makeup a girl can have is a pretty smile!♥

My First Time Facial Experience♥

I have always wanted to get a facial, but fear of the unknown comes creeping in when I think of things that can alter my skins condition. Plus, I'm a scary cat when it comes to trying new things. After all I work pretty dang hard with a in depth regimen that I keep up with morning and night to make my skin happy and healthy. The silly thing it that facials actually help your skin get rid of build up, and your esthetician can recommend at home and in spa treatments to help with any problem areas.

Thanks to my new found use of Groupon I saw a deal for a signature facial at a cute local place. I set up an appointment (which I went in for today) early in the morning two days before I had to work that way my skin had a day or two to heal or deal with any redness. On arrival my facial specialist Lindsey greeted me and had me fill out a page with questions pertaining to my health and skin. So far so good, nothing scary or strange. Then she walked me to the facial room and told me to take my shirt off and put a wrap towel on then lay face up on the facial bed. If you've had a massage this is pretty much the same preparation. You don't have to worry about any products getting on your clothes and the blanket on the bed keeps you snuggly warm. Then Lindsey came in and talked to me a bit about my skin and what she was going to do. She looked over my skin under a light so that she could clearly see what was going on. I have really big and deep pores with an uneven texture and a few places that like to break out as well as the usual congestion of black heads. Lindsey told me I am the perfect candidate for Mircodemabrasion which is a exfoliation treatment. I was glad to know a bit more about that process and she explained it so I could understand, I'm a girl who likes information and to be given recommendations. After all if you never tell me I will never know.

She started the facial process by massaging creamy products into my skin. I love massages, first way to win me over! After a few things rubbed and massaged into my skin she told me she was turning on a steaming machine that sat above my face. This was like steam coming from a boiling pot (this is what the steam looks and feels like), this softens the congestion and dead skin cells on and in your pores so it's easier to remove. Then Lindsey extracted all the blackhead out on my skin. I know this sounds unpleasant and gross, but its essential to clearing up you skin and getting rid of any thing laying dormant in your pores. I'm so thankful that I don't have to worry about the blackheads on the side of my cheeks where I can't see them. Yes it is a bit painful and leaves some redness, but its much more sanitary then you doing it at home without the correct astringent to kill any bacterias. After that she used a tingling product on my face and massaged my neck, shoulder, arms, and hands. I didn't know you got a little massage during a facial, I would have done this a long time ago if I knew that! Haha. Lindsey then applied a moisturizer with a 30SPF and finished my facial.

My overall experience was very nice and relaxing. My skin feels refreshed with wonderful moisture and is super soft to the touch. I have a few red marks due to the extractions but it's much better looking then when I try to do that at home. My skin looks significantly cleaner then before. I'm very glad to finally know what it's like to get a facial and I can't wait to go back for my second one that I booked in September before my birthday. I also will be getting microdermabrasion and and can let you know what that is like as well!

Hope you found some insight to what it's like and I recommend you trying it because you will find it super enjoyable I garentee it. If you don't know who or where to go to, try asking friends or look up reviews.

I want to see you be BRAVE♡

One of my best friends shared this song sang by Sarah Bareilles that talks about being brave in your life. How funny to think how hard that is! We live with our face in our cell phones only worried about ourselves and being like everybody else. WHO CARES!!!! I find it so refreshing to listen to this song and remind myself of why I like to be different and how powerful that can be. One word can set fire in a generation to rise up and start a revolution.
♡I WANT TO SEE YOU BE BRAVE!♡
You can be amazing
You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug
You can be the outcast
Or be the backlash of somebody’s lack of love
Or you can start speaking up
Nothing’s gonna hurt you the way that words do
When they settle ‘neath your skin
Kept on the inside and no sunlight
Sometimes a shadow wins
But I wonder what would happen if you

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I just wanna see you
I wanna see you be brave

Everybody’s been there,
Everybody’s been stared down by the enemy
Fallen for the fear
And done some disappearing,
Bow down to the mighty
Don’t run, stop holding your tongue
Maybe there’s a way out of the cage where you live
Maybe one of these days you can let the light in
Show me how big your brave is

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

And since your history of silence
Won’t do you any good,
Did you think it would?
Let your words be anything but empty
Why don’t you tell them the truth?

Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

With what you want to say
And let the words fall out
Honestly I wanna see you be brave

Back To School Hair Styles

I got a snap chat from my sister in law a few days ago and it had a smiling picture of her with a note that said she was going to school. I sat and thought a minute, WHAT THE HECK SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER??? Seriously, I can't even deal with that right now. So thankful we have one more month here on the west coast till kids go back to school, and a few warm days even after that. I will say that I'm glad I don't have to live through a southern winter this year, sorry to all my friends back in the south but I don't miss the cold weather out there!
Anyways, here are two easy ways you can wear your hair for school without using hot tools and in a few simple steps! Whether it's 1st grade, or your first year of college, you can rock either of these cute braided hair styles. Hope you enjoy, and keep up the good grades because your
education is SO IMPORTANT!
