I love this hair style that I found on Pinterest made by Lauren Conrad. But the only thing is, it's a picture tutorial and not a video so I made a video that you can follow along and see how I place my hair.
I am rocking my natural texture so the only product I have in my hair is my It's a 10: Keratin Leave In that I sprayed to damp hair and allowed to naturally dry.
So back a month or so ago I posted about working with Victoria Pennington and her modeling agency. We did a fashion show for the ribbon cutting ceremony of her agency, and had a blast. Since then we have worked with her and models in numerous shoots and our salon has even been given the honor to work in Alabama Fashion Week! I'm so excited to be apart of such a big event coming up in June. Also, I did the models hair for the advertisement and website.
MAKEUP- Since I've worked in the salon I've been able to help woman discover the beauty of natural makeup. I'm not talking about cake face or just using mascara. I like to introduce my guests to a polished and refined makeover that emphasizes their best features so we can celebrate rather then hate.
As a girl who deals with blemishes on a daily basis, I've learned that too much can look much worse then no make up at all. So in this tutorial I'm going to show you how I wear a basic polished look that focuses more on your beautiful face rather then what's going on... on your face.
HAIR- Ever wondered how to rock your natural hair texture without the frizzy static mess? The simple use of anti-frizz products and a diffuser can answer that question I get asked in the salon, daily.
If you wear your hair wavy of curly most of the time I recommend you use the shampoo, conditioner, and products from the Deva Curl line. With the support of thousands of enthusiastic curly hair salon clients, a woman named Lorraine Massey and a talented team of curl care consultants developed DevaCurl. Perfect for curly, wavy and chemically dehydrated hair, DevaCurl cleansers and styling products are 100% sulfate, paraben and silicone free. The curl care collection contains only the healthiest oils and botanical extracts – like olive oil, lavender and wheat protein – to gently cleanse, hydrate and lock-in moisture. Here you can find out which curl pattern your hair is, and what products to treat it best.
I am categorized as: Wavy curls- so I have a bit of frizz and dry ends, especially since my hair is longer. But since I wear my hair in different textures and patterns every day I only use the styling products. My favorite is the Frizz-Free Volumizing Foam because of it's lasting ability that cut's out frizz and has a touchable feel matched with a soft lemongrass scent. I'm huge on products that don't make my hair feel crunchy and unnatural, and this foam is one of the only that I have used and seen beautiful results. I use about three pumps, emulsify it in my hands and scrunch it into my hair.
Here is where my tutorial comes in, watch and see how I apply the product and style my waves. Hope you enjoy!
In this video tutorial I will show you how I flat iron my hair with care so I don't compromise the integrity of my hair with damaging results. You will need:
-a paddle brush
-a soft bristle brush
-a flat iron
-heat protectant + leave in conditioner (I'm using It's a 10! Keratin Leave In)
- smoothing product of your choice (I'm using Paul Mitchell Supper Skinny & Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Hydromist Blow-out Spray)
Apply your heat protectant + leave in conditioner to damp hair, all over. Then using my smoothing product-Supper Skinny, I'm going to pump a nickel amount into my palm and emulsify it with my hands and apply to the middle-to-ends of my hair. Keep it away from your scalp until you've applied it to your ends, this will keep a build up of product off your scalp and help it to not get oily. Then using my Hydromist I'm going to spray this to my crown and sides of my hair, this creates volume. Watch my video to find out what to do next :)
I basically explain everything I do and the reason why in my video. If you have any further questions you can submit a post, or send me an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
I would like to introduce you to Amber, she is a guest of Dustin's (my boss). She had seen me wear my hair like in the Curls into a Bun tutorial I did awhile ago and asked me to replicate it on her own hair. Amber's hair is actually cut to her neck line so it's a fun shorter cut...with short cut's come challenges. We took her hair from the bottom and created our base by putting it into a low pony tail. Then we pulled all her curls back, bobby pinned them in, and built it up off of that. I believe we did a beautiful job with her hair and you wouldn't be able to tell that her hair isn't super long, doesn't it look like she has an absolute ton of hair?!?
So last night we had to bunker down and wait out a line of storms that hit the south. I'm always prepared with things to keep myself busy (especially when the electricity is out), so I brought along my nail supplies. The first one in the picture is Miss Lily's zebra print and pink nails. The second picture is Mrs. Becca's hot pink bow tie nails. In the future I will be posting nail tutorials so get ready :)
Thank you Lovely Ladies for allowing me to doll you up!
Just wanted to let you know that I will be featuring some of my guests I have at the salon and also any one who sends me a picture of something they did from one of my tutorials. I want to keep tuned in with not only what I'm doing and teaching...but with the beautiful people take part in my blog! That means when you come into the salon I might just want to take a picture and post it on my blog, but don't worry I will ask before doing so. Also, email any pictures you take of your own hair after following a post of mine and you might see yourself in the next post!
Thank you so much for all your support, and remember if you ever want me to do a tutorial send me a message to my email. You can also send pictures to my email.
We have 20 days until the first day of spring! You know what that means... time to break out the summer clothing, kick off the season with a few trips to the tanning bed, and shave shave shave! I have the burden of sensitive skin and irritation, so I have to be really careful when: I shave, how often I shave, and what I use to shave. Like some of you probably experience yourself with sensitive skin, little red bump's from razor burn causes irritation and isn't what you want to show off your new bikini with.
So on my recent trip to get razors and shaving creme', I found this amazing product from Target called "Queen of...!" I purchased the "Queen of...Ta Da!" which is a shave gel featuring a non-drying gel that is lightly fragranced with a Pina Colada Twist, Tea Tree extract, and soothing Aloe Vera. All these ingredients work to leave your skin feeling silky soft and as they say- ever so smooch-able!
Some Great Features:
it's paraben-free so it wont irritate your pores
our skin has natural moisture, so the non-drying gel will keep it that way
the Aloe and Tea Tree work to soothe and heal skin
Some of the places we shave are extra sensitive, this shave gel is so lovely and really helps to make your shave look beautiful.
What do you need after the shave? My favorite lotion is Hemp's Pomegranate Herbal Moisturizer. This lotion is infused with pomegranate oil that contains high levels of antioxidants that prevents free radicals and helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines. This amazing 12 hour moisturizer works all day to keep your skin from ever having a reptilian worry!
Some Great Features:
100% Pure Hemp Seed Oil & Extract to Hydrate, Nourish and Condition Skin
